2021 Australian Open: What to Watch on Tuesday Night

Rod Laver Arena | 11 p.m. TuesdayAndrey Rublev vs. Daniil MedvedevAndrey Rubley and Daniil Medvedev secured the ATP Cup for Russia earlier this month, with neither player losing a singles match throughout. In their three meetings on the ATP Tour, Medvedev has come out on top each time, including in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open in September. This may be Rublev’s chance to finally overcome his friendly rival. He has looked particularly dominant, not dropping a set throughout the tournament. His match against Casper Ruud ended after only two sets when the Norwegian withdrew with an injury. Going into the quarterfinals, Rublev has led the field in both percentage of first service points won and second service points won, a sign of how hard it has been for opponents to break his serve.Medvedev has also been playing well, aside from a chaotic, disorganized third round match against Filip Krajinovic. He has now won 18 matches in a row, with his last loss coming in October at a tournament in Vienna. Although the fast surface fits Medvedev’s flat baseline shots, Rublev’s open stance is well suited in defense, and we’re sure to see many dynamic, aggressive point.Rod Laver Arena | 3:30 a.m. WednesdayRafael Nadal vs. Stefanos TsitsipasRafael Nadal, the No. 2 seed, has moved smoothly through the first four rounds, no surprise for a player with 20 Grand Slam titles. Although Nadal won his only Australian Open title over a decade ago, he has reached the finals on four other occasions since, and is a clear favorite in his half of the draw to do so again. Nadal’s powerful topspin shots are well-suited to clay courts where he can drag opponents around with tightly angled shots. Nadal’s ability to exploit his opponent’s weaknesses with relentless pressure can break most players on their best days.Stefanos Tsitsipas, the ATP finals winner in 2019, is a study in unpredictability. The fifth seed has a capable all-court game, but lacks the consistency to execute match after match. The 22-year-old has worked to improve this aspect of his game, but needed five sets to push back unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. After receiving a walkover in the round of 16, Tsitsipas will be well rested and hoping for an advantage against one of the most mentally tough players on tour.

Chot on TNT coaching return: ‘It’s not going to be easy’

MANILA, Philippines — Chot Reyes is keeping his expectations modest ahead of his second tour of duty as head coach of TNT.
Reyes is the franchise’s winningest coach, having led Talk ’N Text to four titles during his first stint from 2008 to 2012.
“It’s not going to be easy. I know a lot of fans are saying a lot of good things, but this is not going to be a walk in the park, it’s not going to be an instant thing,” said Reyes on Monday in an episode of The Game.

Reyes, 57, replaced head coach Bong Ravena and active consultant Mark Dickel at the helm.
“I just want to make sure that we manage expectations because the competition as we all know is very, very tough and everyone is getting better,” added the eight-time PBA champion and five-time Coach of the Year. “So you know, simply changing the coach is not a magic formula, it’s not automatic. You really, really have to work like we’ve never worked before.”
But the pressure will be on Reyes, who will be tasked to end the Tropang Giga’s long title drought.
TNT hasn’t won a title since the 2015 Commissioner’s Cup under Jong Uichico.
Led by Roger Pogoy, Ray Parks and Jayson Castro, the Tropang Giga made as far as the finals in last season’s Philippine Cup bubble where they lost to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in five games.

The Pros and Cons of Making a Living From Poker

ผู้ชนะการประชุมสุดยอด WSOP ประจำปี 2018
February 16, 2021 0 Comments

If you enjoy poker, making a living from playing this game seems like living the dream.

Do something you love, and it will never feel like work.

But, before you go all in, you should be aware of all of the pros and cons that come with playing poker for a living.
If you’re considering getting more serious about your potential poker career, here are some of the most prominent advantages and disadvantages that come with being a professional poker player.
The Advantages of Playing Poker for a Living
You Own Your Own Time
If you’re playing poker for a living, you’re effectively choosing your work hours. Being your own boss, especially in a career path such as this, means that you’re entirely free to tailor your own time and make the best of every day.
The hassle of working night shifts or waking up early every morning to drive to work won’t be a problem if you gown down this road.

Your “offices” are the online poker tables and live poker tournaments you choose to participate in.

Just keep in mind that you must maintain great discipline in such a job, as not to lose yourself in the flexibility and freedom of your own time.
No Salary Ceiling
The biggest reason most poker players want to go professional is the unlimited profit available for those who dare to claim it.
Although money shouldn’t be your primary motivator, it’s hard not to think about the multi-million prizes at the biggest poker tournaments in the world.
Even if you are just starting out playing online on real money poker sites, there are still countless options with prizes significantly more extensive than what most working people can earn in their day jobs.

Plus, the best part about this is that there’s no salary ceiling on how much you can bring home each month.
Living and Traveling Anywhere in the World
Another great advantage of playing poker for a living is that you can experience the feeling of always being on vacation while traveling for work and making money in the process.
If you plan on becoming a full-time poker player, you can look forward to frequently traveling to some of the biggest and most exciting cities in the world.

From Las Vegas and London to Barcelona and Monaco, you make your own schedule as packed or free as you wish.

Moreover, as a professional poker player, you have unlimited freedom in choosing a location where you want to settle down.
If you want to make your home in a sunny and warm place, you can select a popular poker destination such as the Caribbean.
This will allow you to enjoy endless summers while still being very close to some of the most popular and rewarding poker tournaments.
The Disadvantages of Playing Poker for a Living
No Guaranteed Income
The most significant benefit of a day job is that you know exactly how much money you’re earning every month.

When you switch up your day job for a professional poker career, this safety net disappears.

While it’s true that you’ll be able to win massive amounts of money potentially, there’s no telling when or even if this will come.
Instability of income is a typical tradeoff in many careers that offer a higher profit ceiling.
If you like playing it safe and can’t risk running a negative balance for a few weeks or months, pursuing a career in Texas Hold’em probably isn’t the best way to go.

That said, if you’re ready to accept the swings and have the mindset to handle the pressure of unstable earnings, you can turn this disadvantage into your advantage.
The Road to Success Can be Arduous
Watching Daniel Negreanu toy with his opponents makes it seem almost effortless. But, most of us forget that we’re watching the end result of years of studying the game and the psychology of their competitors.

All professional poker players have experienced great highs and lows throughout their long journey.

Don’t go into it thinking that it’s going a smooth ride all of the time. Confidence is a must-have, but you should continuously work on your skills to back this up.
Of course, some players have achieved great success in their first few years of playing the game, but these are outliers.
If you’re aiming to make poker your lifetime career, you need to arm yourself with patience and always remember that you’re in it for the long run, and variance will catch up with you eventually.
Stable Budget Needed to Start
Although poker offers you the opportunity to win a lot of money, you also need to have adequate starting capital before you even consider devoting all of your attention to the game.
The lack of money is one of the more significant reasons why most players don’t commit to playing poker professionally.
For many players, it can take years before they can get to a consistent level of winning in poker. If you don’t have the capital to start or a stable day job to cover your poker losses, you can quickly grow tired of the stress and grind.
It’s crucial to remember that success isn’t guaranteed and that you should never risk the money you can’t afford to lose. Learning good bankroll management is a must!

Are you Ready to Become a Professional Poker Player?
The hard truth is that not everyone is cut out to be a world-class poker player. But, with enough patience and work, you can make a great living from playing poker.
This is because, ultimately, the pros heavily outweigh the cons, and most players who truly commit to studying and learning the game can succeed in it.

If you’re passionate about poker and ready to put your energy into it, nothing is stopping you from making a career out of it.

NFL betting tips and predictions: Wild Card playoff picks

Best Shows to Stream
February 16, 2021 0 Comments

Here are Jack Green’s NFL predictions for four of the Wild Card playoff games on Saturday and Sunday.
SATURDAY
Buffalo Bills (-6.5) vs Indianapolis Colts
The Bills are the hottest team in the NFL, having won six consecutive games, all by a margin of at least 10 points.
Buffalo’s offense has been fantastic all season thanks to the performances of star quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and they scored 56 against the Miami Dolphins last week even as Allen, Diggs and several other starters sat out the second half.
The Colts are a good team who won four of their last five to make the playoffs, but they’ve lost three times on the road this season – including against the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago – and have declined defensively over the second half of the season.
Indianapolis have conceded an average of 26.4 points per game over the last seven games – compared to 19.7 per game over their first nine – so it’s hard to see them containing this potent Buffalo attack.
Seattle Seahawks (-3) vs Los Angeles Rams
Seattle have not been particularly impressive over the final few weeks of the season, but they’ve managed to grind out four consecutive wins and should keep that run going against the Rams, who they beat 20-9 in week 16.
Los Angeles beat the Arizona Cardinals 18-7 last week in a game in which both teams were forced to play their backup quarterbacks due to injury, and it remains unclear whether Jared Goff will be able to return for the Rams this week after undergoing thumb surgery two weeks ago.
The Rams have lost three of their last five games with Goff under centre, though, so it’s hard to trust them to outscore Seattle even if he does play.
The Seahawks ranked eighth in the NFL in points per game this season despite a recent slump, and they’ve been surprisingly good defensively over the second half of the season, conceding an average of just 15 points per game over the last seven weeks.
SUNDAY
Baltimore Ravens (-3) vs Tennessee Titans
The Ravens were slow to get going this season and were beaten by the Titans in week 11, but they’ve hit top form over the past few weeks and look primed to gain revenge on Sunday.
Baltimore have won five consecutive games, scoring an average of 37.2 points per game in the process while holding four of those opponents to 17 points or fewer.
The Ravens rank inside the top seven in the NFL in both scoring offense and defence this season, which suggests they are a better team than their 11-5 record would indicate, and it’s hard to see how Tennessee’s 24th-ranked defence will stop the Ravens’ attack in this form.
The Titans have lost twice in the last five weeks, and a narrow 41-38 victory over the 4-12 Houston Texans last Sunday hardly indicates that they’re set up for a deep playoff run.
New Orleans Saints (-10) vs Chicago Bears
The Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 33-7 last week despite their top four running backs all being placed on the Reserve list and therefore unable to play.
New Orleans have now won 11 of their last 13 games. One of their two defeats came with star quarterback Drew Brees sidelined with broken ribs, and the other came when he was not completely healthy in his first week back.
The Saints’ offense should be close to full health this week, which bodes poorly for a Bears team that they beat 26-23 in Chicago back in Week 8.
The Bears started the season 5-1 but went 3-7 the rest of the way to limp into the playoffs, and it’s hard to see them even keeping it close on the road against an elite team like the Saints.

Sydney Sixers v Brisbane Heat betting tips & predictions 10 01 21

ผู้ชนะการประชุมสุดยอด WSOP ประจำปี 2018
February 16, 2021 0 Comments

Here are four cricket betting tips that Adam Drury thinks you should consider for the BBL 10 match between Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat on Sunday.

Joe Burns to score over 18.5 runs
Burns has recovered his form for the Heat since being dropped from the Australia Test team earlier this month.
He has scored 52 and 22* in his last two innings, so this looks like a very low runs line.
Max Bryant to score over 18.5 runs
Bryant has also impressed for the Heat, passing this mark in four of his last five innings.
The opener has reached double figures in all eight of his Big Bash innings this season, so getting close to even money on him reaching 19 looks a fantastic bet.
Jack Edwards to score over 18.5 runs
We complete our assault on the 18.5 runs line by backing Sixers opener Edwards to pass it.
The 20-year-old has not been as consistent as the Heat batsmen named above, but hit an impressive 44 last time out and has reached double figures in his last four innings.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to be Brisbane Heat’s top wicket-taker
Mujeeb has taken at least one wicket in six of his seven BBL appearances this season.
He would have won us some profit in this market on two of his last four appearances, including when he took an outstanding five-fer against the Hurricanes.

Jamie “Boz” O’Connor Bosses partypoker Big Game

Launch day for Michigan online gambling is here

Matthew Pitt

Jamie O’Connor consoled himself after a miserable performance by his beloved Leeds United by taking down the partypoker Big Game for $41,417.
O’Connor was a special guest on the popular APAT Show and juggled answering question with battling foes in partypoker’s $530 buy-in The Big Game. Some 482 players turned out for this week’s tournament and created a $234,150 prize pool, $34,150 more than the advertised guarantee.
The top 79 players received a slice of the pie and there were plenty of British and Irish star among the in-the-money finishers.
Ben Jones, Benjamin McMenemy, Justin Dunk, Paul Vas Nunes, and Connor Morrison all cashed, the latter falling in 11th place for $3,024.
Jamie Nixon reached the final table but crashed out in ninth for $3,844, which left O’Connor as the only Union Jack sporting players in the field. O’Connor swept aside his opposition, including Rui Da Silva heads-up, to bank a $41,417 prize.

We also had a double win in the partypoker Big Games because Roberto Romanello reached the final table of the $2,600 High Roller Big Game. Romanello, however, fell in sixth-place for a $12,398 addition to his bankroll.
There’s every chance a British star will be $184,507 richer over the next couple of days because both Tom Madonald and Will Kassouf find themselves in the top 12 chip counts going into Day 2 of the MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event. Day 2 takes place on February 15 and will see the 169 returning players reduced to the final table of nine.

888poker proved to be a happy hunting ground for our players, especially in the $33 Sunday BIG Fish where Mike “HyperX.” Skeldon came out on top of a 986-strong field to lock up the title and $5,625 in prize money.
Two of our players reached the final table of the $30,000 Sunday Challenge PKO, too. Ben “xLIVEPROx” Warrington’s tournament ended in a sixth-place finish worth $839 while “babos87” collected $1,769 for their fourth-place exit; both scores include bounty payments.
Four of our players made it to the final table of the $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep but, sadly, none of them could quite get the job done.
Nick “hattie009” Cappleman crashed out in ninth for $1,480 with “M10FOG” and “casual_win” banking $2,620 and $3,520 for their seventh and sixth-place finishes. “needabridge” came agonisingly close to victory but ultimately had to make do with a second-place finish worth $11,900.

Zhang won the $2,625 High Rollers Blade Opener after outlasting 66 of the world’s biggest names. Victory weighed in at $39,752, Zhang’s reward for defeating Bert Stevens heads-up.
Ami Barer, David Peters, Joakim Andersson, Sami Kelopuro, and Niklas Astedt were among those elite names who navigated their way to the nine-handed final table.
Zhang went on to finish sixth in the $5,250 Sunday 500 High Rollers event for an additional $33,591.

PokerStars produced some big scores with two British star banking more than $86,000 from the $1,050 Sunday High Roller alone.
Jonathan “Proudflop” Proudfoot and “13shaun” found themselves in the top five spots with the majority of the 322-strong field fallen by the wayside. David “Missoracle” Yan crashed out in fifth for $19,093 and it looked like the English duo could go all the way.

MELBOURNE – Jessica Pegula continued her dream run at the Australian Open on Monday with a 6-4 3-6 6-3 win over fifth seed Elina Svitolina to set up an all-American quarterfinal against Jennifer Brady, who beat Croatia’s Donna Vekic in straight sets.
Pegula struggled badly in the second set at Rod Laver Arena but regrouped in the decider, breaking former Wimbledon and U.S. Open semifinalist Svitolina in the fourth game before locking down her first win over a top 10 opponent.
Matching Svitolina’s power off the baseline, Pegula rushed the net to knock her opponent off her stride and sealed the win on the first match point when the Ukrainian netted a return.
Pegula, who considered giving up tennis after being sidelined for long spells due to knee and hip injuries earlier in her career, will play her good friend Brady for a place in the semis after the 25-year-old beat Vekic 6-1 7-5.
“Jen is an awesome person,” Pegula told a news conference. “She was texting me, ‘I’m so happy, I’m so proud. This is awesome’.
“We’ve all been pushing each other. Why not push each other into a quarter-final, then one of us be in the semis?”
Vekic was hampered by an injury to her right leg and took a medical timeout at the start of the second set after being blitzed by Brady in the opener.
She emerged with fresh strapping above and below her knee and though she managed to take the fight to Brady in the second set the Croatian was barely moving in the final two games.
With the score tied at 5-5 Vekic surrendered her serve to love, a double fault handing Brady the chance to serve for the match.
The American made no mistake, sealing victory when her opponent fluffed a forehand.
